Low Speed Shoulder Closure on Interstate 95 Northbound in West Haven

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that pavement coring will be performed on Interstate 95 (I-95) in West Haven. This work is scheduled to start on Thursday, February 6 at 9:00 p.m. and to be completed on Friday, February 7 at 6:00 a.m. CTDOT Project No. 0156-0181 consists of the replacement of Bridge No. 00161 carrying I-95 over First Avenue and Bridge No. 00162 carrying I-95 over Metro-North in West Haven.

CTDOT Project No. 0156-0181 was awarded to The Middlesex Corporation with H&H, LLC, at a cost of $96,688,000 on August 25, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed in June 2027. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 3 in New Haven.

There will be a low-speed shoulder closure on I-95 northbound in West Haven between exit 43 and exit 44 from Thursday, February 6 to Friday, February 7 from 9:00 pm to 6:00 a.m. Traffic control sign patterns and State Troopers will guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
